BUU LONG INDUSTRY AND INVESTMENT JSC AND SCG CONCRETE ROOF (VIETNAM) CO., LTD DONATED 02 COVID-19 MOBILE POSITIVE PRESSURE CHAMBERS DEVELOPED BY SCG TO DONG NAI PROVINCE
Dong Nai, October 08, 2020: With the effort continuously to support community, Buu Long Industry and Investment JSC (Buu Long) and SCG Concrete Roof (Vietnam) Co.,Ltd,, two subsidiaries of SCG in Vietnam have teamed up to hand over two (02) Covid-19 mobile positive pressure chambers to Dong Nai Department of Health as the effective measure to protect frontline medical workers as well as prevent viral spread of Covid-19. The chamber has been developed by SCG, produced in Vietnam, applied pressure principle had been used extensively by major hospitals in Thailand during the pandemic combat.
Mr. Udorn Chobtham, General Director of Buu Long JSC and SCG Concrete Roof stated: “Vietnam has currently put the Covid-19 pandemic under control, however, the global situation has not yet settled. As Dong Nai province is an important hub for industrial zones and has a proximity to Ho Chi Minh City, it is necessary to apply precautious measure to prevent the pandemic spread. Acknowledging this, Buu Long JSC and SCG Concrete Roof would like to share this responsibility to support and protect the local medical workforce via this innovation and expertise.”
When collecting the sample, the medical workforce is prone to get contacted with the virus in micro-droplet from the talking, sneezing, and coughing that often happen during the swap. Designed and built by SCG, these mobile positive pressure chambers aim to avoid direct contact between the sample collecting staff and the person providing the sample. The chambers are built on the positive pressure room principle, in which the inside air pressure is greater than the pressure outside the room. This status is achieved by pumping in filtered and sterilized, clean air. The purpose of positive pressure is to ensure that the outside airborne pathogens do not contaminate through inside that room.
Having tested through the peak time of Covid-19 in Thailand, the mobile positive pressure chamber concept is once again brought by SCG to Vietnam. The first batch of 04 chambers was delivered to Da Nang Center for Disease Control (CDC) early this August by SCG Cement – Building Materials LLC. Later in December 2020, TPC VINA, SCG’s subsidiaries, also imported 03 mobile units to equip Dong Nai General Hospital in Dong Nai province.
Recognizing the benefits of these chambers in pandemic combat, Buu Long JSC and SCG Concrete Roof have made an effort to donate two more units of mobile positive pressure chambers to the Medical Centers at Vinh Cuu district and Trang Bom district in Dong Nai province.
“Contributing to the local community development is the mission that drives our operation in the past years.
