SCG ORGANIZES MANY INTERESTING ACTIVITIES FOR DISABLE CHILDREN ON INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S DAY TO ENGAGE THEIR ENVIRONMENT ENTHUSIASM
Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, June 1st 2022: With SCG’s commitment to being a sustainable business that is interested in the development of the young generation, particularly children, SCG organized the 14th International Children’s Day at the School for Disabled Children in Ba Ria – Vung Tau. SCG implemented the program with a support package worth 220 million VND with healthy outdoor activities for children while also raising their awareness of environmental protection in school. This year’s activity is organized with the goal of educating children about environment enthusiasm under the Circular Economy concept, towards the “Vietnam Circular Economy Forum 2022”, is organized by SCG in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The program at the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Disabled Children demonstrated SCG’s commitment to pursuing the ESG (Environment – Social – Government) strategy, in order to accompany and develop with the young generation in developing a “green” lifestyle from the smallest actions.
On International Children’s Day, the students are allowed to participate in recreational activities to improve team spirit as well as physical health, recycling and waste segregation challenges to create habits of environmental reservation. Furthermore, students received gifts and scholarships from SCG, which encourages their endless studying efforts, determination of life success, and environmental love. In addition, SCG presented 3 water purifiers to the school for students to have clean water, and at the same time contributed to limiting single-use plastic bottles to the environment. Besides that, SCG donates a large number of garbage bins to train students’ knowledge of waste segregation with simple and useful instructions.
Remarkably, in addition to the activities for students, this year’s International Children’s Day at the School for Disabled Children in Ba Ria – Vung Tau includes the presentation and display of modeling art pieces made of recyclable materials from 05 groups, who are the school’s staff, teachers and students. With the collaboration of 05 professional groups’ students and teachers, instead of being discarded, models have been created and recycled from unused items to create new decorations, learning and teaching tools. The outstanding displayed and presented initiatives include : a Vietnam map made of bottle caps, a model of a happy ecological garden made of seashells, and a model of rotation made of old newspaper to serve for studying and practicing math, a clock model made of old newspaper and carton…
It is this opportunity that teachers express their environmental ideas, as a result, the contents of the Circular Economy Model were intriguingly conveyed to the students through interesting and easy activities on this day.

With the topic “Recycling Day”, SCG wishes to create conditions for the young generation to practice the “ Green” living from the simplest actions. This event will also build on SCG’s commitment to chasing an ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) strategy for sustainable development. I hope that meaningful projects will always be maintained and expanded, for their own purpose and for the sake of society as a whole.”

Especially each year, the students look forward to the International Children’s Day celebrations hosted by SCG. Because SCG not only provides a full and complete day for the children in the love and sharing of the entire community, but also organizes many interesting activities with environmental themes to help students take responsibility for recycling and segregation waste at school.”
Aside from the International Children’s Day celebration organized by SCG at Ba Ria – Vung Tau School for Disabled Children, on the journey of Circular Economy Model and pursuing the ESG strategy, SCG has also organized several meaningful activities such as waste segregation projects at Long Son 1-2 Primary schools (BR-VT), “ESG Idea Pitching – Hacks to heal our planet” contest… These human development and environmental protection activities will continuously be spread out as side events of the “Vietnam Circular Economy Forum 2022,” which SCG organizes in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to spread positive and sustainable values throughout the country.
